Drawings
Do you remember in those old cartoons, when two or more characters got in a fight? And rather than animate the complex movement of bodies in space - the animator would draw a cloud of dust? Maybe a stray arm or fist would appear, followed by some stars, maybe an exclamation point, a foot? Well, that is what these paintings are, or what they are based on, or at a minimum what I am thinking about while making them.
